FOURIN, Inc. is the author of research reports (printed matter, CDs and other media items, PDF files, Excel data, etc.) published by the company. As author, the company reserves all rights starting with moral rights including publication rights, the right to determine the indication of author’s name, the right to preserve integrity as well as reproduction rights, distribution rights, rental rights, dictation rights, translation rights, transfer rights, digitalization rights, etc.

Moreover, the source of quoted text or data in research reports is always specified. We protect the rights of the original author including but not limited to the press, organizations, associations and corporations. If it is considered necessary, we seek the approval or permission of the original author beforehand. If it is additonally necessary, we conclude a legal contract (some may include payment of royalties etc.).

As stated above, in order to protect the copyrights of our own and other original authors, we set the following guidelines. We only provide or sell research reports to those persons (companies) which recognize these guidelines.

Definition: Terms used in “FOURIN Copyright Guidelines” are defined as follows.

  • “Same corporation etc.” is a management unit whose location is identical with that of the head office which is registered under corporation law. So-called subsidiaries, affiliated companies, group companies, overseas subsidiaries and other corporate entities are not included.
  • “Purchasing department” is the same corporation etc.’s minimum unit which purchases the research report, and has an annual budget and settlement of accounts.
  • “Organization” refers to a single branch of the “organization.” Affiliated formations, organizations, corporations, etc. are not included.
  • “Library etc.” refers to libraries, archives, industry pavilions, etc. whose purpose is unspecified number of perusals.

Approval: Our research reports are sold to buyers within the “same corporation etc.” or within the same “organization” for subscription or for perusal only. Except actions described under “3. Unauthorized / Forbidden,” buyers (companies) can use research reports in the following ways.

  • Our printed research reports may be freely subscribed / perused within reasonable bounds by individual buyers, and within the “same corporation etc.” or within the same “organization” by corporate / organizational buyers.
  • If the “Library etc.” is the subscriber, it may freely provide perusal only within reasonable bounds.
  • The use of Excel data and PDF files to create new databases according to individual needs is permitted within the “same corporation etc.”
  • Quotation, citation, reproduction or posting of printed matter or snapshot (copy and paste) of printable PDF files are permitted within the “same corporation etc.” However, posting on the Internet or company LAN is not permitted.
  • However, source must be specified as “Source: FOURIN, Inc. ○○○○ issue” or “ Copyright FOURIN, Inc.” on each page etc.
  • It is permissible to process, arrange, classify and provide research reports through search and display systems at “Library etc.” if it is the purchaser.
  • PDF products are guaranteed to be available on the Internet for ten years from publication. Subsequent availability will depend on the discretion of the company.
  • It is only permissible to print and distribute printable PDF files within the “same purchasing department” of the “same corporation etc.,” located at the same address, which subscribes this publication.
  • Subscribers of view-only PDF files are limited to employees of within the “same purchasing department” of the “same corporation etc.,” located at the same address, which subscribes this publication.
  • Regarding Internet group subscription contracts, all exceptionally approved or permitted content shall be applied with priority over these Guidelines.

Unauthorized / Forbidden: It is forbidden to use research reports (including all pages and parts of pages of printed matters and digital resources) in whole or in part in the following cases without prior written permission.

  • Directly copying (duplicating) printed research reports.
  • Copying (duplicating) research reports and passing them to a third party by subscribing “Library etc.”
  • Printing printable PDF and distribute it to a third party other than the “same purchasing department,” located at the same address, which subscribes this publication.
  • Citing, quoting, reproducing and posting outside of the “same corporation etc.”
  • Transmitting or transferring unaltered or altered PDF files, Excel data, etc. to a third party. Also posting unaltered or altered PDF files, Excel data, etc. on the Internet or company LAN.
  • Sharing ID and password, which were provided or permitted to a registered user of a specific product, with multiple users. Also providing ID and password to a third party.
  • The following are not permitted with the email address and password which are used for user registration, PDF subscription, Internet group subscription etc. ① Using the same email address and password by multiple users, ② registering multiple email addresses and passwords by the same user, ③ registering free email addresses provided by IT companies, and ④ employing email addresses and email address usage which are contrary to the purpose of the service providing.
  • Translating research reports into another language and providing them to a third party other than the “ same corporation etc.”
  • Scanning or otherwise converting research reports into an electronic format and providing them to a third party.
  • Selling research reports whole or in part for whatever reason to a third party.
  • FOURIN shall not sell research reports and data to other companies in the same business which use them for business purposes.
  • FOURIN forbids the delivery and sale of digital products to “Library etc.” which may cause unexpected business loss.
  • FOURIN uses special technical measures to prevent unspecified number of dispersal of PDF files posted on the company’s website.
  • All other methods and scope of actions which are not explicitly permitted in article 2.

Warning / Termination:

  • If confirmed that these guidelines have been clearly violated, the person in charge will be directly warned. If the violation is not stopped within two weeks after the warning, product and service providing will be immediately stopped.
  • If damages occur to FOURIN or copyright owners as a result of the violation, claim for damages will be made.

Changes:

  • This “FOURIN Copyright Guidelines” may change on a timely basis.
  • Following a revision, when a new “FOURIN Copyright Guidelines” is presented, new subscribers, new contracts, extension and renewal of existing contracts shall be considered to be approved by the new “FOURIN Copyright Guidelines.”
